Overview

Braemar Castle is a 17th-century fortress with a dramatic history of clan rivalries, Jacobite uprisings, and royal connections. Originally built by the Earl of Mar in 1628, the castle later became the seat of Clan Farquharson and played a role in the Jacobite rebellion.
